Information we process
CrackingBuy does not require customer accounts. The application may record limited event information such as the CrackingBuy storefront, product identifier, on-site search terms, outbound retailer clicks and timestamps. Our hosting provider may also process normal technical request information, such as IP address, browser/device information and security logs, in order to deliver and protect the service.
Why we use it
We use this information for our legitimate interests in operating and securing CrackingBuy, understanding which products and searches are useful, improving ranking and catalogue quality, diagnosing faults and measuring affiliate performance. We do not use CrackingBuy event data for third-party behavioural advertising.
Cookies and similar technologies
The CrackingBuy storefront currently does not intentionally set non-essential first-party cookies or browser storage for advertising or analytics, and it does not currently use Google Analytics or Meta Pixel. Because CrackingBuy is not currently using consent-requiring first-party tracking, we do not show a cookie-consent banner merely for appearance. If that changes, we will add the required consent or objection controls before the relevant technology is used.
Product images are normally retrieved by CrackingBuy's server from retailer or content-delivery domains and then delivered to the shopper from the CrackingBuy site. This avoids requiring the shopper's browser to contact each merchant image host directly. When you choose to visit a retailer, your browser is redirected using an affiliate link. The retailer or affiliate network may then use its own cookies or similar technologies under its own privacy and cookie notices.
Service providers and international processing
CrackingBuy uses hosting and database providers to operate the service. Those providers may process technical or event data on our behalf and may use infrastructure in the UK, EEA or other countries. Where a provider processes data outside the UK, applicable UK transfer rules and the provider's contractual safeguards are relevant; contact us if you want more information about those arrangements.
How long information is kept
Event and search information is kept only while it remains reasonably useful for catalogue ranking, operational analysis, security, fault investigation or affiliate audit purposes. Technical hosting logs are retained according to the relevant provider's operational and security settings. We review these purposes and should not keep identifiable information for longer than it is needed.
Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, UK data-protection law can give you rights to ask for access, correction, erasure or restriction of personal information, and to object to processing based on legitimate interests. Because CrackingBuy does not require accounts and much of its event data is not directly identifying, we may need enough information from you to locate any relevant record.
